LUX Products Receives California Title 24 Certification

Philadelphia, PA, Nov. 28, 2017 – LUX Products Corporation today announced that it has achieved Occupant Controlled Smart Thermostat (OCST) certification, also known as California Title 24. The California Title 24 Building Energy Efficiency Standards are designed to ensure new and existing buildings achieve energy efficiency and preserve outdoor and indoor environmental quality. The California Energy Commission is responsible for adopting, implementing and updating building energy efficiency.

“We’re pleased to have our thermostats be Title 24 certified,” said Kurt Mease, Product Manager at LUX.  “We work hard every day to deliver energy-efficient solutions that are easy to install and easy to use.  We’ve added even more value and built in a great Smart Tips feature into our LUX app, which is used with our GEO, GEOx and KONO Smart thermostat.  This makes it easy for homeowners to be as energy conscious as possible.”

The models which have received TITLE 24 certification include:

  • KONO Smart Pro Edition – KONO Smart Pro is designed for easy installation with push terminals, 2h/1c universal system compatibility and dual power options. It can be powered by either a C-wire or the included LUX Power Bridge for universal power options. KONO Smart Pro Edition also brings a new level of ease, personalization and design to the home with its new Décor-snap™ covers and stress-free interface.  It comes in a black stainless finish with brushed stainless finish accents and can also be personalized in five trend-setting colors and a paintable option.
  • LUX GEO – LUX GEO puts the flexibility and control of home comfort in the hands of the home owner, either via smartphone device, desktop or the product’s intuitive control panel. GEO offers contractors the most flexible installation option with battery-only power in addition to c-wire and LUX power bridge power options.
  • GEOx – The GEOx offers control over humidification and dehumidification systems and HVAC comfort from one smart device. A “pro” featured thermostat, GEOx is easy to install with or without a WiFi connection and is compatible with almost any residential system. In addition to humidification/dehumidification, GEOx is a dual-fuel thermostat and compatible with conventional heat of 2h/2c and 3h/2c heat pump systems.

These thermostats all work with the free LUX mobile app which is equipped with LUX Home and Away Aware™. This feature automatically puts the thermostat into an energy-saving mode when the homeowner is out of the house; it resets to provide optimal comfort when the homeowner enters the designated “fence.” LUX GEO & GEOx work with Amazon Alexa and Google Home-enabled devices and KONO Smart Pro Edition is Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Home compatible.

To further its commitment to energy savings, LUX offers a Smart Tips feature as part of its LUX App that automatically sends seasonal tips to homeowners on ways to help save energy.  The Smart Tips feature offers general tips as well as proactive suggestions based on the user’s behavior on how to best save money and be more energy efficient.  These year-round recommendations help consumers manage their wallet as well as their energy usage.  This feature is available for all thermostats that use the LUX app, including the Lux GEO, GEOx and KONO Smart.
