Troubleshooting the Display
  • Problems that may be identified from the display of your programmable thermostat are listed here with suggested resolutions.

Problem Resolution
Display will not change Peel protective plastic label from display.

There are two  small white buttons on the circuit board. To avoid having to reprogram you unit, take care not to press S1 the SW RESET button. Press the S2 HW RESET only.
Blinking snowflake or flame symbol on display The snowflake will blink when thermostat is calling for cooling, the flame will blink when it is calling for heating.
Blank or fading display Replace its batteries with fresh AA size Duracell® or Energizer® alkaline batteries. Be sure that they are installed with their polarity (+ and -) correct.
Clean battery contacts with a pencil eraser and pry out the spring contact slightly to insure a clean, firm connection.

Displays "REPLACE" on screen Clean battery contacts with a pencil eraser and pry out the spring contact slightly to insure a clean, firm connection.
Replace the batteries with fresh AA size Duracell® or Energizer® alkaline batteries. Be sure that they are installed with their polarity (+ and -) correct.
Displays wrong room temperature. See Temperature Regulation 
Display is locked, will not respond Check for a locked padlock icon on the display. Touch the icon to see "UNLOCK KEY". Touch "YES". Press the up and down arrows to enter your lock code then touch "YES" when finished. To remove the lock with out your lock code, remove the thermostat from the wall and locate the button labeled HW RESET on the back of the thermostat. Press the HW RESET button down for 5 seconds then release. The padlock icon should now be in the unlocked position. You will need to reset the time on your thermostat.
You want to change the displayed temperature scale from °F to °C or from °C to °F U4 on you units circuit board contains four small switches that control its settings. Switch 3 controls  the TX9000TS displayed temperature scale. Place this switch  to its on position to use the Fahrenheit scale. Use the alternate position (not marked)  to use the Celsius scale. Press the small white HW RESET button on the circuit board to effect the switch change.
You want to change clock format from 12Hr Standard Time to 24Hr Military Time or from 24Hr Military to 12Hr Standard Time U4 on you units circuit board contains four small switches that control its settings. Switch 1 controls  the TX9000TS displayed time format.  Place this switch  to its ON position to use the 12Hr format. Place this switch  to its alternate position (not marked)  to use 24Hr military time format. Press the small white HW RESET button on the circuit board to effect the switch change.
Displays wrong day or time To set the clock touch the time on the screen. The time will flash, use UP or Down arrows correct time. Touch the time again to accept the displayed time. To set the day press the visible day of the week on the screen. The day will flash, use the UP arrow to correct the day. Touch the day again to accept the displayed day.
Displays no set temperature The system switch must be in the HEAT or COOL position to view a set temperature.
Shows "888" on display Press the small white HW RESET button inside on the rear of the circuit board.
Shows "OL" "OL" means Out of Limits. The sensor is reading outside the thermostats display limit of 32°F to 95°F. When the temperature returns to within these limits the temperature display will reappear. If actual room temp is not outside these limits, there may be a malfunction. Press the small white HW RESET button on the circuit board. Reconfigure and reprogram. 
Displays "OVERRIDE" "OVERRIDE" appears on the display when the set temp is raised or lowered from the program temperature. Overrides are terminated at the next scheduled program period when the unit will revert to the program temperature and the "OVERRIDE" will be extinguished.
Display will not light Some display backlights are difficult to see in a lighted room. Check the backlight in a darkened area.
If the thermostat has batteries installed, replace them with fresh Duracell® or Energizer® alkaline batteries.
Clean the contacts holding the batteries in place with a pencil eraser.
