How do I lock and unlock my thermostat?

There is a keyboard lock feature on your TX9600TS thermostat that is used to prevent tampering with the settings.  If it is active, you will see a picture of a locked padlock towards the lower-left corner display.

TO LOCK THE TOUCHSCREEN:

The thermostat must be either in Heat Mode, or Cool Mode.  

  1. Press the MENU once.  
  2. Now press SCROLL 5 times, and you should see “SET KEYPAD LOCK?” in the top of the display.  
  3. Press OK, and the thermostat will ask you which 4-digit code number you would like to use for locking out the touch panel.  
  4. You can lock it using the default code of “0000” if you would like, or you may use the UP/DOWN and NEXT buttons to enter a specific code number of your choice.  
  5. Please record this lock code in a place that you will be able to refer to is for unlocking the thermostat.  
  6. To activate the lock, press OK and the thermostat will return back to the Normal Run screen.

TO UNLOCK THE TOUCHSCREEN:

  1. Press on the “locked padlock” icon, in the display panel.  
  2. The screen will ask you if you want to unlock the keypad, press OK.  
  3. Enter the unlock code that was used when the thermostat was placed into a locked state, using the UP/DOWN buttons and the NEXT button to change which digit is flashing.  
  4. Press OK to unlock the thermostat, and the display should return back to the Normal Run screen with no padlock icon.


If the thermostat displays “WRONG CODE” please check the unlock code that was entered and correct it on the screen if necessary.  Press the OK button to try to unlock  the keypad again.

TO RESET THE LOCK CODE:

NOTE: batteries will need to be present in the thermostat to perform this command.  

  1. Remove the front half of the thermostat from the wall plate.  
  2. On the back of the circuit board, there are two black buttons below the battery compartment.  Press the LEFT button labeled “HW RST”.  
  3. Place the thermostat back onto the wallplate.  
  4. The thermostat is now unlocked, however you will have to enter the current DAY and TIME for the thermostat to resume normal functionality.  

The Heat and Cool temperature programs will not be affected as a result of this Hardware Reset procedure.
