Lux Products Corporation announced today the completion of a transaction pursuant to which it was acquired by Edwin McAuley Electronics (EME). Lux Products is a leading North American vendor of thermostats, timers and range parts in both the retail and wholesale markets where it operates under the Lux and LuxPro brands. EME is an Original Design Manufacturer based in Hong Kong and has been a major supplier to Lux Products for more than 20 years.

Edwin McAuley, Chairman of EME, said today: “Given the strength of the Lux brand and the reputation for customer service, the opportunity to acquire Lux Products represents a wonderful growth opportunity for both EME and Lux. EME will continue to use its expertise in thermostat design and manufacture to supply Lux with high quality products and develop new and innovative products for the US. The combined skills of EME and Lux will allow both companies to address the exciting technological opportunities in the home automation market and deliver energy saving products to its customers across America.”

Paul Balon will remain CEO and Lux Products will continue to operate as an independent vendor headquartered in Mount Laurel, New Jersey.
