What is swing, and how do I set it?

A thermostat works by turning your heating or cooling system on and off whenever the room temperature varies a certain number of degrees from the set-point.  This variation is called “swing.” We recommend setting #1 which provides maximum comfort.  This is also the default value that the thermostat already has in it when it is shipped. Setting it to a wider value will result in less frequent cycles, and may save energy.

To adjust Swing:

1. Press “Menu”
2. Press “Scroll” 4 times – Display will say “Set\Review Swing Value”
3. Press “Yes”
4. Adjust number up or down
5. Press “Scroll”
6. Press “Exit”

Actual temperature variation will vary depending on the conditions.  As an approximation:

SWING SETTINGS:

1. 1.      +\-   0.25 F (from Set Temperature)
   2.      +\-   0.50 F (from Set Temperature)
   3.      +\-   0.75 F (from Set Temperature)
   4.      +\-   1.00 F (from Set Temperature)
   5.        +\-   1.25 F (from Set Temperature)
   6.        +\-   1.50 F (from Set Temperature)
   7.        +\-   1.75 F (from Set Temperature)
   8.        +\-   2.00 F (from Set Temperature)
   9.      +\-   2.25 F (from Set Temperature)

   Example:  For tightest control, set swing setting on #1 which is plus or minus 0.25 F degrees.  If you set the setpoint at 70 F, the highest it will get to is 70.25 F, the lowest it will get to is 69.75

   Example: On swing setting #8, with a setpoint of 70 F, the temperature swing will is plus or minus 2 F degrees.  The highest it will go to is 72 F and the lowest it will go to is 68 F.
