Founded in 1914 by Paul Lux and his family, our roots trace back to Waterbury, Connecticut, where we first specialized in crafting clock movements. From those early days, the company evolved rapidly—expanding into full clock production and even contributing to wartime manufacturing during World War II. After the war, we continued to grow, opening new facilities in Tennessee and Canada, and in 1961, became part of the Robertshaw-Fulton Controls Company, known for innovation in thermostats and controls.
Fast forward to today, Lux Products is a proud brand of EME Americas. Though the ownership has changed over the years—from a management buyout in 1991 to acquisitions by Johnson Controls in 2018 and EME Americas in 2023—our commitment to quality and innovation remains strong. We now focus on energy-efficient thermostat solutions, offering both low and line voltage models. As a leader in the adoption of Matter IoT technology, Lux continues to shape the future of home comfort with smart, reliable, and user-friendly products—true to the spirit of craftsmanship and ingenuity that started with the Lux family over 100 years ago.
